93Mustang Posts: 65 Rating: (0)	I have a 6SL3130-6TE23-2AA3 Smart Line Module with Drive Cliq Interface. Do you have to use the same function block as for an active line module to enable this infeed device ??? This link provided the blocks necessary to enable an Active Line Module http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/21971603 Do I have to do the same with a Drive Cliq Smart Line Module ???

93Mustang Posts: 65 Rating: (0)	Thanks for the reply but we already did that a few days ago and got it working. Where would I get information on how to enable the EP signal for the drive amplifiers. It seems that I can move an axis even when I unplug the connectors. Also even though we did not modify any parameters I'm aware of... our spindle motors running open loop seem to only go 1/2 the RPM shown in the datablock on our Technology PLC.

Without "Safety Integrated" the EP connectors have no functionality in the drive. Regards Christoph

93Mustang Posts: 65 Rating: (0)	Well after extensive trial and error, reading manuals etc I finally got this function working. I am however dismayed that it is only a software enable. To make it easier for anyone else trying to do this you need to wire the EP connector on top of the drive and also wire an input to the CU. In the hardware configuration you need to point to this input and turn on the enable in both places on the Function Safety Integrated Page for each drive you wish to use it. You will also need to use the ALM function block in your ladder to enable the Smart Line Module. Even though in the forum it lists this for an Active Line Module with no mention of the newer smart line modules with drive cliq interface. Another thing that surprises me is that the DC bus is on whenever the 3 phase power is applied to an Active Line Module or a Smart Line Module. I had thought that you had to enable the Line Module before the Bus would be Active. To be completely hard wire safe you either need to put a contactor in front of the Line Module or after each drive axis in front of the servos.
