Hi,

I am new to TIA portal and to this discussion. This is my first message in this portal.

I am using a S7 1500 PLC. The analog signal from the thermocouple(4-20mA) comes into the AI of PLC. I need to monitor this temprature every 20 secs and record the value and store it in an Excel file with the recorded time.

I have gone through data logging in CSV format in the memory card of PLC.

Can I directly store the values into computer hard disk as an Excel file with time recorded? Can anyone help?

i had read your opinion, too i want to extract de data of the data logs direct from the plc to the PC without the use other software like wincc this beacause a ecomonic reason.

Could you tell me how i can do it for i develop the solution.

A CSV file is nothing else than values stored as ASCII characters and separated by a special character like a coma, or a semicolon for instance. In Excel the values separated by that character will appear in separted colums.  At the end of a number of values, a new line + carriage return characters are added to create a new row in Excel.

With the function VAL_STR you can convert numerical values in the PLC to ASCII strings.
And store them in a DB. You add the needed semicolon and linefeed/return characters to reach the file structure needed. I guess that SCL is the best language for these manipulations.

Once you have the databloc with the right structure, next step is to send the DB as a file using FTP (file transfer).
An FTP application sample shows how to proceed.
