MM420: start a motor with digital input

SNWBRDR86 Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	I want to use a digital input (digital output from the PLC) to start a motor. I did a quick commissioning where I have enterred all details from the motor in the correct parameters. After that, I changed some parameters to be able to use the digital input: JOG: P1058 75 JOG frequency right (Hz) P1059 0 JOG frequency left (Hz) P1060 10 JOG ramp-up time (s) P1061 10 JOG ramp-down time (s) Digital inputs: P0701 10 Digital input1 = JOG right P0702 0 Digital input2 = disabled P0703 0 Digital input3 = disabled P0704 0 Digital input4 = disabled P0724 3 12.3 ms debounce time P0010 0 Ready P0700 2 Terminal But when I activate that digital input, nothing happens. I would like the motor to start with a frequence which is determined in the JOG right parameter. I also tried to start the motor by pressing the JOG button and this goed well. Changed this parameter to do this: P0700 1 Command source = BOP (keypad) Anybody knows what I am doing wrong or what I am forgetting to make it work. Thanks.

I also notice something isn't right with parameter r0722 (binary input values), I assume you have to see there some 0's and 1's, but all I see is b - - . - - So it doesn't read my digital inputs? kaoma Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	I think try to change also P1000 because P0700 work together with P1000. So when you put P0700=2 put alsoP1000=2,When you put P0700=1 put also P1000=1

SNWBRDR86 Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	P0700 is to select the command source P1000 is to select a frequency setpoint I don't see what see have to do with eachother. SNWBRDR86 Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Yes, I am aware that if I change P0700, P0701 etc. changes to default value. I changed P0700 first and then P0701 etc. I just can't get the motor running whitout using the JOG button. If I change the command source to terminal, nothing happens. And I tried all possible combinations by now I think.

SNWBRDR86 Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Thank you for your reply Wizard, but I still don't manage to make it work. We also ordered the kit to connect the MM on a PC by using Starter. I tried to do the same thing, but it doesn't work either. Can somebody explain me (step by step) how I can configure (by using the BOP or STARTER) the MM420 that when I send a signal to digital input 1, the motor starts running with a certain frequence and stops running when the signal is gone. Later an analog signal will be used as well to control the motor, but for now, I will be very glad if it works with the digital signal.

SNWBRDR86 Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Problem is solved. I did not connect the mass from the drive with the mass from the PLC, so digital input 1 was never noticed by the drive. Now it all makes a lot more sense when the motor actually runs if I give a signal. Thanks for all the reply's.
