Can i used Micromaster 440 instead of Micromaster 420 on profibus system

tt singh Posts: 56 Rating: (1)	I have one machine having PLC 315-2DP all the Micromaster 420 are attached with profibus.One inverter is damanged and i have Micromaster 440 in hand .please tell me any body how i can use Micromaster 440 instead of micromaster 420 with profibus.I have Simatic Manager and drive Moniter Softwers

dchartier Grandmaster Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 1/13/2026 Posts: 12480 Rating: (2722)	Hello tt_singh; If your Profibus-DP module number is 6SE6400-1PB00-0AA0 then it can be adapted to all Micromaster 4 drives. Programming for the control and monitoring of the new drive through Profibus will be similar to that of the old drive. However you must take care to parametrize the new drive properly so it recognizes the Profibus address and communications; check the parameter list of this new drive carefully. Manchat Posts: 33 Rating: (6)	You will probably need to change the hardware configuration in Step7. I believe the GSD files for the MM420 and MM440 are different. The control and status words for the profibus communications should be OK though.

Tambe Posts: 148 Rating: (11)	Dear Mr singh, Replacing the MM440 with MM420 is possible. All the parameter setting for MM420 are possible with MM440. Even the Status and control word would be same. I do not know much about the PLC side . But I think it will through just you load all parameters of MM420 in to this unit correctly Regards, Tambe
