Hi all!

I have a question regarding the removal of  a module from SIMODRIVE + DP. I have already done some extensive research, but unfortunately I cannot find anything else except the Function Manual SIMODRIVE 611 universal which only covers hardware removal without the consequences of software error handling.

The complete setup is given by the following picture (611U config)

The module to be removed is A42.My questionis how this can be done safely and without errors?

Why you want to remove module?

With Simucom U software you can back up the data into PG/PC. The same can be reloaded into spare control card. To know more about 611U data back up, please read related FAQ here.

The module needs to be removed because it will not be needed anymore since the controlled motors are beïng removed.

After the SIMODRIVE is removed from STEP7 (hw-config etc.). I wonder if something must be changed through perhaps the Simucon U software? So that only module A40 and A43 continue to exist properly.

How it is controlled?

If it is controlled by PLC, you need to modify PLC hardware configuration as well as I/O configuration. No need to connect Sinucom U. Sinucom U is a tool to configure & backup data.

After removing B42 module, you need to connect B43 properly to infeed module & modify PLC harware configuration as well as logic.

If it is controlled by CNC system, you need to modify MD + HW configuration + PLC logic.

Its controlled through the PLC. There's also a PC (win 2000) with VB code that controls a database and communicates with the PLC. 

I'll post the results when the PLC HW configuration + logic is modified and the module is removed.

Past weekend the module has been removed succesfully. Some error signals from the powermodule needed to be reconnected, after that everything was up and running
