PCS 7 is developed and optimized for distributed control platforms (mainly for S7-400) such as process control.Both hardware , software and visual interface is optimized and customized for process automation applications.Similar discussions can be found by a GOOGLE search: Can any body tell me what is the similarity & difference between PCS7 & TIA portal? TIA Portal vs PCS7 In brief,PCS 7 is the platform to control huge process plants(such as the whole refinery or a power plant) while TIA needs time to be the replacement in that scale.
