Replace old drive to new one

Recently i need to replace my old drive. i got a new one 6SE7021-8TB 61 with CBP2. i use comprofibus to do the configuration. my question is: what do i need to do to make this swap successful? both with the comprofibus and S5 part. sorry i am a newbie. please help. thanks in advance

fseray Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	You have a couple of options 1. If the Old CB1 card is still good it will work fine with the New CUVC board you will just the back plane (LBA) board to use the CB1 2. You will have to change the object in COM PROFIBUS to reflect the new GSD file and ID of the CBP2 board. if you keep the same PPO type and address register in S5 there will be no program change required. Aver all the biggest change will come in the conversion of the CU2 program to the CUVC program. Another option is that if the old CU2 board is OK you can pull the old CU2, CB1 and back plane out of the old drive, put them into the new drive instead of the CUVC and CBP2 card and the new drive will act just like the old drive no program changes required. It is part of the delivered docu on DriveMonitor CD.
