tia portal professional v13 sp1, wincc v13 professional, cpu 1511-1 pn,, et200m with im153-4 pn & 6es7-331-7kfo2-0ab0 , ktp400. 

I want to control an electric heater with a pt100 using a pid block in a tia project.

The pt100 is connected to channel 0 of my analog input card and is wired correctly(the sensor is brand new). The addresses assigfned to the card are IB16-iB31

the channel is set up as rtd pt100 standard

in the project I created a cyclic interrupt organisation block and added a pid compact technology object. I put a value of 50 as the setpoint for testing, and used address PIW16 as the input_per. output_pwm is q2.0.

when everything is powered up and online I only get a value of 0 at input_per and output is always off.

Am I correct in using PIW16 rather than IW16? (whats the difference?)

since the input card is second hand, I am not sure whether the card id faulty or I have set it up wrong or my programming is wrong. can anyone help?

did you set Config.InputPerOn = TRUE?

Is output Error =TRUE or =FALSE?

Did you check the TIA help? - There you can find a Sample Program for PID_Compact.
