Is it possible you are using the toolbar download icon to download hardware changes to your PLC?

If so, that is the problem.  The PLC does not yet know you want to use the digital input as a counter.

See the attached for the way to download hardware changes to the PLC once made in the portal project.

Hi All,

I'm programming a CPU1511 in TIA15 and have a problem with the TM count 2x24v high speed counter.

As far as I can tell it is configured and programmed correctly but I can't get a count value (it will change under the commissioning tab). The input lamps on the card are changing as I turn the encoder but no value to be seen.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Program attached. ( would not let me upload a s7 zip file so changed the extension from.s7 to .gif to upload)

I could not retrieve the archive you uploaded. 

Are you certain you are looking at the correct DWord tag for the HSC input?

No the hardware configuration is in the PLC and verified. The HSC counter block also has the StatusHW output set.

I renamed the .gif to .zap15 just like the textual name within the archive (human readable in notepad at the very end of the file).

Portal V15 was unable to perform the required retrieval / unarchival.

Rename the *.GIF to *.7z , thereafter use an application such as 7zip (7zip.org) to restore the *.ZAP15 file. Then 7zip application can unpack this file too, or use TIA V15.

Use the ZIP extension instead of 7z for a next time. This forum is friendly to ZIP files.

There are in-between step. Please review my notes again.

1. GIF -> 7Z................................................................... [ ! ]
2. use 7zip (or alike) application to unzip .............. [ ! ]
3. unzip file: ZAP15
4. unzip ZAP15 by Step7 or by 7zip (or alike)
