Do you mean the IO-modules in the central station, that is connected to the CPU over backplane-bus? if yes, Towome gave you the answer. But you mentioned Profinet. So I´m not sure if you just mean how many IO-Devices you can connect via Profinet. This would be 16. You can find these information in the technical data of the CPU, e.g.: 6ES7214-1HG40-0XB0 hope this helps, regards,

This is indicated in the "Address Area" -> "Process Image" in the link in the post above. You can add additional modules using the Profinet interface but the total IO space is limited as stated above. Larry
