as I'm one of the users with the most PMs I can say that you are able to have several thousands PMs in your PM-box. When the limit is reached you will notice it, because the PM website take a while till its loaded.

Can you upload a screenshot of the message you received?

The PM system has reached a saturation at around 12 threads. Each thread contains several messages.

I do not recall the exact message and would happily add the message when it appears again. The message said something like 'failed to send message'. I closed 6 or so threads and thereafter the PM (and new message thread) could be sent.

I have seen this behaviour before on a different user, a few years ago.

I assume it is the same message that would come up if a user blocks a PM. This was however not the case.

for me the mesaage come up if i try to answer to a pn which was send to me , and i think the user blocked pn.

Thank you for your reply. That was not the case for me. The message was going to someone which accepted my PMs. The fault message is the same.

Would it not be nice to have a "white list" of people that is allowed to contact you? Experts are over-thrown by PMs asking for private tutor sessions. The current "black list" and "no PM" is good enough in my opinion. And I base my opinion on what I see happening that there is a limit to the PM thread count.

i get nor really much PM.
in the most cases it refer to a forum topic and i answer there.

if the question of the PM is not linked to Forum i suggest the user to open a topic for the problem.

i don't nee a white list, or blacklist.

everybody can write me PM if is a technical topic, or saye thank , but not Spam or social attacking.

in this special case here with the message a get a social sniffing PM from a forum member and that the  reason why he blocking the receive of PM
