I have to connect three single-phase motors (240VAC, 0.37kW, 0.89A) to a PLC for control. Just want to do start/stop based on some process conditions.

The 3RA6 starters are used widely onsite. I am thinking of using the 3RA6 motor starter (three starters for three single phase motors, controlled separately) as a single phase motor starter as well. In other words, I wish to use only one of the phase terminals on the starter and leave the other two disconnected.

Are there any concerns with using them in this manner? The starters does not care about different voltages/current between the phases?

When a single-phase load is connected to a three-phase device, protection against phase failure may trip.
