hello every body.

we have machine with Simotion D445 controller and bellow devices

1-  three Sinamics Integrated Drive

2- three ET200 S  rack

3-  An encoder connected with profibus

4- five Sinamics inverter

I got back up from parameter of Sinamics inverter with STARTER  software.also I connected to  Simotion D445 with SIMATIC MANAGER  software and got  back up from  Hardware configuration .

after that I opened SIMOTION  software in  SIMATIC MANAGER and loaded cpu to PG

Is it enough ? or I must do something else ?

if additional data was not downloaded to Simotion then you cannot upload the program.

BUT !

If you want to have a copy of the compiled program (so you will not be able to open/edit it) you can just take out the CF card and copy it to a folder of your computer

Thanks so much. I checked it . There isn't any archived project in CF. Dose that mean "additional data" have  not been downloaded ?

Hi, Yes, it is always useful to have a backup of the CF card.

With a CF card copy, You can restore Your Simotion to the working configuration in the event that the CF card becomes corrupted for example

As Tech Team and Christoph have already stated however, a compiled program cannot be viewed or edited (This is the way that OEM;s can protect their Intellectual Property)

Well, to be fully honest you are right, I explain : you can show the hidden files and copy them also, so you are making a copy of all files and all directories from CF card to your PC.

This is useful because if your CF card is dead, you can restore the program in a new CF card, and it will work.

BUT !

THe problem is in the bootsector of the CF card. With the normal windows copy you are not backupping the boot sector. You don't normally need that because if you buy a new siemens card it has already its boot sector and then it's ok.

If you want to be sure to copy every bit of that CF card, including boot sector, you can use a tool that is called "HDDRawCopy1.10Portable" which makes the low bit level copy of that CF. In this case your copy will be 100% identical to the original one, but the size of the created file would be around 1 gb more or less....
