I think STEP 7 V 5.2 should already work with the EX11 CP. I wonder, did you ever check the LED’s at the front of the CP yet? If so, have you seen any SF on or flashing? Do you see the CP in Run or in Stop mode?

If there is nothing seen, have you tried the special diagnostics of the CP yet? To open this you open the properties of the CP and select the folder diagnostics. There you run the special diagnostics. If you may access the CP you should check the Event log to see if there are any entries.

well, as the LED’s at the CP seem to be OK we need to try the Software.

Did you already try to do the Special Diagnostics available for the CP 443-1? Did you check the diagnostics buffer there? I hope the Special Diagnostics may reach the CP, otherwise this may be the cause of the Problem.

If the CP is not reachable you either have a problem with the location (Rack / Slot) of the CP in the Rack or the used Slot is faulty. Maybe it is worth to try another Slot in such a case. In worst case it is necessary to replace the complete Rack.

If the Special Diagnostics may reach the CP you have to investigate within the diagnostics buffer if there is any problem mentioned. If not, check the CPUs diagnostics buffer.
If both buffers do not show any problem... it really may be a problem of the STEP7 version you use. Using updates may be recommendable... but may also be impossible as soon as you use PCS 7.
