Anjum786 Posts: 21 Rating: (0)	Hi, Carbon brush and bearings found damaged in our DC motor, carbon brushes and bearings have been changed and the motor was installed. When we try to run the motor, it stops with sparking in the motor on commutator side and sometimes after 200 RPM motor stops alongwith the alarm on drive F-12 on Simodrive, sometimes fuses of armature or field blowns. Several attempts have been made to rectify/diagnose the fault but still no successful attempt made. Can you suggest that motor is faulty or problem exists in drive or mechanical system? Regards

Anjum786 Posts: 21 Rating: (0)	yes we have checked motor armature and fields with Megger, motor runs well without load but as soon as we connect it with the load it starts to create problem. We have checked with four different simodrives and mechanical system is also in very good condition.

How you fed DC power & check the motor? Thru DC drive or with simply by manual variac & bridge rectifier system? If by applying power by manual variac system, do you observe sparking at aramture comutator? Assuming carbon brushes, carbon brush pressure & position correct, do you stillobserve sparking at commutator? How you checked the motor armature? Is there any interpole winding? Is it checked?

Anjum786 Posts: 21 Rating: (0)	We have checked the motor by supplying power through drive and through simple bridge rectifier, we observed no sparking at no load but as soon as we connect it with the load, sparking is observed at higher RPM i,e above 200 rpm.
