We found that time syncronization while another controller is CNCP master and SNTP slave (here ABB800M is SNTP slave and CNCP master and GPS is SNTP master) ;we should configure siemense S7400FH as CNCP slave; and ES to be configured as client;if it is right,so here question is ,in addition to the configuration on CP and CPU in simatic manager ,is needed another configuration or do write something such a application? Or this syncronization perform automaticlly after mentioned configuration.

 Cncp is the abb proprietery protocole and as i know it is not supported by siemens products?

Why dont you define simatic s7-400fh as sntp slave too?sntp protocole can also use with ip routers.

S7-400 as ntp client does n't need any user programming or further configuration than mentioned in earlier post.

 And for es and os there are different ways according to dimatic wincc, abb, or windows native time synchronization(win32time) service.

My means is S7400FH to be SNTP client because ABB controller is SNTP master ,so i think it is leading to conflict if two controller from different manufacture to be SNTP master.

Im a little confused. Is n't the ac800m sntp slave according to your earlier post?

What's your sntp master? What's yor gps module and how is connected to yor network?

Please give a network architecture scheme of your system.

 You must consider your network architecture and vendor instructions for the best time synhronization Plan.

whats your sntp server in abb network? Which module get clock from gps reciever? ( like siemens siclock tc400)?

It can broadcasts or multicasts time frames toward siemens network too.

I work with ABB 800xA and Siemens. As mentioned, CNCP is a proprietary ABB protocol for synchronization of controllers. A controller, acting as a CNCP master, would get it's time (usually acting as an SNTP client to an SNTP server). The time can then be distributed to other controllers (Acting as CNCP slaves)

It is also possible for all the controllers to be SNTP clients to the central SNTP server, though this would lead to more traffic on the network and burden on the SNTP server.

For the time sync of the S7-400, All I think you need to do is to configure your S7-400 as an SNTP client to the same SNTP server that your ABB 800xA is getting it's time from. Since the source of the time is the same then the controller time will be synchronized. No extra programming is needed (to be best of my knowledge)

I don't think it is more complicated than that. Try and see the results
