Can I use the encoder position actual value I received from the DCM driver for meter measurement? (Incremental encoder is connected to directly on the drive (Terminal: X177.41 - X177.48) and I don't use Technology Object in PLC)

Hello,

You can use r0021 - speed actual smoothed value which is in rpm. Transfer this value to PLC & convert it in meters from RPM. In PLC you can reset it as per your requirement i.e. on time basis or in multiples of meter. In PLC mathematical calculations are much easier than in DCM with FFB.

The speed has to be integrated to get an unexact position value. Alternative would be to evalute the Xist1 value.

Xist1 would do a Modulo after 2^32 increments.

I think what they meant was that after 2^32 increments, the data representation rolls over from maximum binary representation to the minimum binary representation.

You need to manage that with the PLC logic, preferably while it is not moving!
