I have AT1218, Heidenhain linear encoder that has 23nm resolution. I'm using telegram81 (it is on Profinet) to setup External Encoder TO. By observing "G1_XIST1" change I can verify that 23nm is correct value.

Problem is that when I configure absolute linear encoder with 23nm resolution -  measured ActualPosition of encoder is not making sense. It is showing 6um at 12mm actual motion.

Anyone with expirience to help ? Kind regards

The documentation for the AT1218 says it is enDat, not Profinet.  Do you have a special AT1218, or an enDat to PN gateway?

Yes there is a PN Gateway. I is easy to use and incorporate as TO, just that it doesn't work right for me. I must have made mistake somewhere.

XIST1 changes from 2445108 to 2998420 for its allowed range (12mm given by producer). When subtracted and multiplied by 23nm it is 12.72mm which looks good. But in TO numbers are weird for position. Denominator and nominator are 1 and other things are default except for the numbers in screenshot.

it seems that encoder uses no fine resolution.

Please set the settings for fine resoltuion at the TO (Technologyobject) to 0, or to the values in the encoder setting.
