We have the following items which was there is stock for almost 5 years. We want to check its working status. What are the precautions we want to do for the startup process. We will use S120 Cu310-2PN as the control unit. 

We saw the 'Commissioning procedure after a long storage time' in the manual which states that we need to apply reduced voltage to the U,V,W terminal for specified time and gradually increasing it. 

U,V,W terminals are the one's which we normally connect motor wires.

Why we need to connect it in that way? Normally we will apply power to L1,L2,L3 terminals. Can some one explain the logic of that?

Can we use the lamp technique(Connecting 100W lamps in series to U,V,W ) for forming the capacitor? 

The manual mentioned a graph with power applied time(That too in the Y graph,its mentioned U(V)).

I saw the below video for sinamics S120 booksize module. Can we use the same technique for PM240-2 drive?

Cannot refer you tube video you mentioned since IT admin has blocked youtube site.

You can use incandescent lamps at input supply side while forming DC link capacitor but apply input voltage as below cycle.

25% of input supply voltage for first 2hrs, then 50% of input supply voltage for next 2 hrs, next 75% of input supply voltage for next 2 hrs, & 100% input supply voltage for next 2 hrs.i.e. total 8 hrs charging cycle time. Please refer attached sheet.

And yes, you can use that for any Sinamics (except the Smart Line Module)
