Access HMI Directly with SmartServer in WinCC RT Profesional V17

budiman.chandra Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	Dear Forum Experts, I'm using TIA PORTAL v17 with WinCC RT Profesional and HMI KTP 700 with ethernet connection. I've tested the Smartserver feature by running SmartClient.exe in my computer. My questions is: - Is there anyway to access Smartserver directly from WinCC RT Profesional SCADA directly (without open SmartClient.exe apps separately)? Would you mind give me tutorial for this case? Thx. Budiman

Or is there anyway to run .exe program in runtime mode WinCC Professional? Other questions, Can i use smartclient to view other HMI in the same network by using my own HMI for example KTP700 or TP700? Thx.

If you have installed the Internet Explorer on the RT Prof station and you enter the address of the panel :5800 then there will be loaded a java plugin of the IE. if this works (and its always a fight between java Version vs. the Image Version of the Panel) then you can try with the HTML Browser Control in the WInCC Prof RT. I worked with this in earlier Versions without problems but as I wrote there has been changed a lot in SmartServer, Certificates, Security settings, Java Versions..... and the HTML Browser Control is very weak. (There will be a better one only in upcoming Versions like WInCC V8) If this do not work in your situation/combination then you have to use the SMartClient.exe as external application just triggered from WInCC Runtime. wish you good luck Bye Murof
