Hello, I am upgrading an old setup from older pcs 7 as well as upgrading computers, when upgrading computers i followed the installation on the usb drives, i selected "PCS 7 Engineering" option for my ES, but I just now realized, it did not come with simatic shell? I then proceeded to install most of the items in the list, but the simatic shell folder never appeared in my file explorer, unsure what to do about this, as when I installed my clients and servers they all got simatic shell.

View my list of installed software attached, and my windows version: Windows Server 2019 Standard 1809 OS build 17763.4499, according to compatability tool these seem compatible.

you are right, in the new PCS 7 Version V9.1 (maybe also at V9.0, I'm not sure) the SIMATIC Shell is not installed with the "PCS 7 Engineering" option for the PC. And if you don't use encrypted communication you don't need it.

My experience is that, SIMATIC Shell is a useful tool and can help trouble-shooting. So I installed it additional from the DVD.

Also at PCS 7 V9.1 the SQL Management Studio is not installed "PCS 7 Engineering" option and has to be installed manually if it is need.

 Thank you, is it not a bit strange that it is installed with other options like OS Server/Client or is that more neccessary than having it on your ES? Out of curiosity.
