I need to create a data monitoring screen (SCADA) to collect data such as temperature, pressure etc. from 8 separate Siemens PLCs and present it on a single PC screen. Seven of these PLCs are S7-300 models programmed using Simatic Manager, while one is an S7-1200.

My expertise lies solely with TIA Portal, which is my preferred software for this task. However, I have two inquiries:

1. Can I use TIA Portal WinCC "Advanced" for this purpose? The "Professional" version encounters an error on my PC, displaying "Failed to run simulation."

2. How can I retrieve data from the S7-300 PLCs programmed using Simatic Manager in TIA Portal and incorporate their tags into my TIA Portal WinCC Advanced PC screen? I think that's possible with combined engineering using device proxy option in TIA portal but we don't have the "original" copies of the simatic projects. We only have the backups uploaded directly from the S7-300 PLCs and thus they do not include the symbols and tags therefore the tags won't be uploaded using combined engineering (device proxy) option. What can I do in this case?

you can simple ad a proxy in Tia in initalise it with the data from the Step7  classic projects

What if I use TIA WinCC Advanced for this purpose?

I am experiencing trouble running WinCC Runtime Professional in TIA Portal v16. Whenever I create a screen by selecting 'PC Systems' > 'Simatic HMI Application' > 'WinCC RT Professional' and start the simulation, I encounter the error message 'Failed to start runtime simulation.' I have tried every solution I could find on Siemens forums such as deleting a certain folder, compile>software(rebuild all) etc. but nothing has worked. I have also checked the WinCC SQL service and confirmed that it is running. Surprisingly, it fails to run even when I don't add a PLC and connect the screen to it. I am attaching a screenshot of the products installed on my computer so that you can check if anything is missing, although I doubt it. My OS is Windows 10 22H2. WinCC RT Advanced runs fine.

 Update: After trying everything the problem with WinCC Professional of "Failed to start runtime simulation" resolved after installing the latest updates.
