I have a

S7-1200 PLC (6ES7 211-1HE40-0XB0) and a KTP400 HMI (6AV2 123-2DB03-0AX0),

Using TIA V18, I created new projects, add the PLC, add the screen and connected it to the PLC using the wizard. 

I then wrote my code and designed my HMI. Once this was complete. I connected the PLC, HMI and my PC via a hub together. I downloaded my PLC software first to the PLC and then I started my HMI and manual configured its IP address on the screen. 

I then downloaded the HMI software into the HMI.

I restarted everything and when it all started my HMI doesn't seem to be communication with my PLC. 

it doesn't receive data from MD bits and I tried to test it a created a simple button on my HMI what would activate a latching circuit on my PLC and it doesn't work.

I believe it is some type of communication between my PLC and my HMI however I have checked all the stuff I know to check such as the IP Address for all the components, subnets all this.

The clue is that when I go online in my HMI it says connecting via MAC address rather than IP like my PLC.

I can send an archive file to anyone that can check it.

you'll probably just have to set time and date correctly in the PLC and the HMI for the communication to work. Since TIA V17 and its respective firmware-versions the communication is always "secure" which requires a validity check of the certificates and therefore the correct date and time.

 Thank you for your response, I have check what you suggested and changed all the times, reloaded everything and tried again and it still has the same issue.
