I have the same problem to 3 PC web clients, "no connection to server". I have try almost everything (i think) like installing/unstalling several versions of wincc webnavigator client (from v7.0 to v7.5) but i have the same problem. I try to connect to different servers that are configured correctly but the problem still exists. I Think that the issue focused on client side PC. Is there any way to uninstall completely (also from registry) the wincc webnavigator client from a PC???

What do you mean by "Password on both sides" because there will not be any Simatic Shell on a pure WebNavigator Client, 

Or is one then required to Install SIMATIC NET on WebNavigator Clients as well?

I'm experiencing the same issue from this thread, I'm trying to connect to a server from a web client virtual machine without no basic WinCC software installed but it keeps bringing the ''No connection to server'' error, both with WinCC Viewer RT and IE.

I've tried connecting with other virtual machines with WinCC 7.5 installed and they have no problem connecting right away with the server, so it's not a licensing issue, it's specific of this web client. Connection to the server from the virtual machine through cmd ping command is working too. I should mention that the virtual machine used to have an old version of WinCC incompatible with Web Navigator Client, so in order to install this I had to uninstall WinCC, perhaps I over did it and uninstalled an important file, I'm not sure if that could pose problems with Web Navigator. Furthermore the machine's Simatic Shell Explorer is now deactivated, and the folder's settings look like this now (see attachment), so I wasn't able to follow the solutions proposed in this thread regarding it.

I was about to try to install SIMATIC NET on this web client seeing that the other web clients I've tested have it installed too, should I see any improvement I'll make sure to let you know.

Otherwise does anyone have any useful advice to solve this issue? I would appreciate it.

Good news everyone !

Installing SIMATIC NET V16 solved the problem, both WinCC Viewer RT and IE web client connexions work now. Hopefully this will be useful for others in the future ;)

Does this simatic net need to be licensed and also, do we need install this net in both server PC & web view client remote PC? 

In web configurator inside wincc explorer, do we need to assign “WEBCLIENT.ASP” specifically for this server-remote client?

Do we need to do any changes in the component services for wincc RT and other since related components? Anything to do with firewall setting ?
