We’re currently encountering an issue while downloading a WinCC project to a client station in our PCS 7 (V9.0 SP3) multi-client project.

Project Setup:

• PCS 7 Multi-client architecture
• OS project: WinCC
• Attempting to download to a client station
• Project name: B000SC26
• Target path: \\b000sc26\project\B000SC26\B000SC26.mcp

Problem Description:

During the OS download process, the following error appears in the load log: (see attachment) 

The full load log shows that:

• The project was locked successfully.
• Files were copied successfully.
• The target directory is writable.
• However, after attempting to change the computer name, the OS download fails.

What We’ve Checked So Far:

• The computer name of the target client matches the station name defined in the project.
• No runtime or OS was active on the client station during the download.
• Network connection is stable (we can ping both ways).

Any advice or shared experience would be greatly appreciated!

        Verify User Account Settings:

• Ensure that the currently logged-in Windows user on both the Engineering Station (ES) and the client station has administrator rights.
• Confirm that the same user account (username and password) exists on both the ES and the client station, and that the user is part of the SIMATIC HMI group.Check Database Context and SQL Server:
• Use SQL Server Management Studio to check for any hanging or corrupted database files. Detach and delete any stuck files (e.g., .mdf or .ldf) associated with the project.

• Ensure that the SQL Server Agent is running on the client station. If it cannot be started, investigate further as this might be causing the issue.

  Validate Target Path:

• Confirm that the target path (\\b000sc26\project\B000SC26\B000SC26.mcp) is accessible and writable. Ensure that no files in the target folder are locked or in use.
• Verify that the target folder is empty except for the WinCC project files.

 - Both ES and Client has admin rights 

- The password of the user is same with the ES, but the name of ES and Client is different. We have activated now the “Administrator”in Client station  which is the username of the ES.

- SQL Server Agent is running on Client Station 

- How to check the corrupted data base file on SQL Server Management? What should I be looking? 

EDIT/UPDATE : ISSUE SOLVED!! We have to activate the “Administrator” via command prompt and KABOOM! We have succesfully downloaded the Project via Client and Runtime and we can now control.
