We are currently facing an issue related to our redundant WinCC system.

Our system configuration includes:

• Two SIMATIC IPC547J units configured as redundant WinCC Servers
• One SIMATIC IPC527G unit configured as a WinCC Client and WinCC WebNavigator Server
• Two redundant S7-1517H PLCs
• Three SIMATIC IPC377G HMIs configured as WinCC WebNavigator Clients (connected to IPC527G)

Issue Description:

When using WinCC WebNavigator, the login/logout functionality (via PWRT_api.h) does not work on the WebNavigator Clients (such as the HMIs and tablets).

However, the WinCC Client PC (IPC527G) is still able to use the login/logout function without any issues.

Our Question:

Is there any method to enable or implement the login/logout functionality for WebNavigator Clients?
Are there any limitations or configurations required specifically for PWRT_api.h to work with WebNavigator?

We would greatly appreciate your assistance in verifying and explaining this behavior.

Yes, I understand that when opening a WebNavigator session, a login is required and the user must input a username and password as defined on the WebNavigator Server.

What I want to achieve is the ability to dynamically perform login/logout actions during runtime, without closing the session or restarting the browser.

I tried using the login/logout functions fromPWRT_api.h, but they do not work on the WebNavigator Clients(e.g., HMIs or tablets). 

Is there any way to trigger login/logout programmatically on WebNavigator Clients?

For which usecase do you need the login/logout on a Webnavigator Client?

If you open a Webnavigator Session a Login is required. so every session has a defined login. To logout close the session.

If you would do a logout the session would also have to be closed

Yes,

you can create a user logon or user switch during opened viewerRT session with usegen.dll, usegenap.h with scripts in WinCC.

Or easier, if you use different viewerRT cfg files with stored users, if you may only need to switch between a few defined users.
