S7-200 PE connection point

ionut.b Posts: 289 Rating: (3)	I use S7-200 CPU + DI + DO + AI modules + OP77B. All modules have PE connection made. It seems the the power supply for my electric cabinet has N + PE connected together. My cabinet has all five points sepparated: L1, L2, L3, N and PE. OP77B has a USB printer atached to it. When I insert USB cable both OP and printer it seems that internaty (in the printer) PE is connected with 0VDC (GND) from my power supply. I have problems with the printer port (was damaged) and I was wondering if this could be a reason. Not connecting PE for PLC, modules and OP should lead to more problems?

naah Posts: 76 Rating: (8)	Check, if the connection between PE & N is from power supply? If it is from power supply, replace it. It seems, the connection must be from the cabinet. If it is so, disconnect it.

ionut.b Posts: 289 Rating: (3)	From the cabinet I have a connection between 0VDC and PE if I connect USB printer. Between N and PE I have no connection from cabinet side. The power supply doesn't make any of these connections.

ionut.b Posts: 289 Rating: (3)	The connection between N and PE is not from the cabinet. This type of connection is sometimes found at different power supply, in different locations in my country. I fear this external N+PE connection(external) and 0VDC+PE (internal - printer) is producind USB port failure. I would like to isolate somehow the USB port of the printer. Thank you.
