S5-S7 CP1430

rusli_rusli Bronze Member Joined: 3/31/2009 Last visit: 7/16/2024 Posts: 191 Rating: (3)	Hii all, i'm in planning on upgrading S5 to S7 the system is conveyor system for moving paper roll and there's one computer program running on windows nt 4.0 for tracking the roll ( printing roll identification etc ), the tracking program is vendor specific program ( not siemens ) that connected and fetch data from S5 through CP1430. my question is : 1. is the cp1430 implementation is the same with current industrial ethernet ( i mean the data packet ) 2.can this program still work without any modification br rusli

Howard Wong Posts: 24 Rating: (3)	Hello, 1) You should be able to get a S7 Ethernet card to mimic the old S5 CP1430 functionality. 2) Your base program should work but you will need to modify your send/recieve blocks. I hope this helps. Good luck.
