Sinamics drive and speed/position feedback with CANBus encoder

conter Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hello, first of all Happy New Year to everybody. I'm facing a problem with the design of the interface between Sinamics and Simotion architecture with encoder in CANBus. The application is composed of3 AC motors (Brushless and 1PH8) with encoder in CANBus as speed feedback,3 Sinamics drive (S120 single motor modules and Active line module) and Simotion CPU series D425 as drive manager. Two encoders are incremental, one is absolute multiturn. All of them are in CANBus. Icannot change the use of the CANBus for the encoders. I have not found a solution inside Siemens documentation showing howto interface a CANBus encoder directly with the driver. In my opinion it could be possible to interface the CAN Bus to the Sinamics drivers (i.e. by using a converter CAN-DP) or by connecting the CAN Bus to the Simotion CPU and the driver will read the encoder directly from the CPU. Can you help me to find a technical solution ? Bye Roberto Conte
