REDUNDANT FIELD POWER SUPPLY

Behrad Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	I have a question. Is it possible to connect two SITOP power supply outputs directly ( without using of a SITOP redundancy module - 6EP1 961- 3BA20) togetherin order to have a redundant field power supply?

Raednabeel Posts: 96 Rating: (7)	Dear, It is a dangerous issue, if you do that, almost you will have a circulating current, and burn one of them if not both. Note that this is connecting two power supplies in parallel, so you must be sure they have exactly the same output voltages, which almost not possible. BR

Hello Behrad it sure is and the FAQ below will tell you how and what to look out for: Parallel connection of same type of power supplies for redundant operation I hope this helps
