AI2 X 12 BIT ANALOG MODUL

erkanozdemir Posts: 19 Rating: (0)	hello expert i just started to creat a project which have been writing with analog module ( AI2 x12 bit ) in s7 300 i have a termocupl ( type - j ) and will connect to analog module ( 6ES7 331- 7KB02- 0AB0 ) i completed all configurations settings . for example i selected measuement type TC IL and type -j and degresss limit up and down is 0- 100 C selected in properties in HW config but when i online in plc . i see that values what was read by termocupl . as hex mode " 1bc" . it is not wrong however when i change to temperature limits up and down again as 0 - 500 C . i still read the same values in plc . on the other hand as i known analog module is 12 bit and resolve is 4096 bit but negative point willl not used by me . then must i calculate it for 11 bit ? i mean that limit is between 0 and 100 degress . different must be 100 / 4096 ? or 100 / 2048 ? how will set it ? and as end if i touch to termocupl which had been connected to module on cpu and anlog module warning me red light and sf fault and all value turn to "FFFF" why? if you have cataloque about this analog module i will be glad . could you help me about this problems pls . ?

fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 1/18/2026 Posts: 3054 Rating: (1062)	Hello erkanozdemir important thing to make sure first is to check that the measuring range module of the AI card is in the correct position("A" in your case and just in case you are not yet aware of this important range module). You'll get all the technical data, connection description,Analogue value representation etc. from the SIMATIC S7-300 S7-300 Module data manual (see chapter 4, 5& 6) and may also find the SM331; AI 8 x 12 Bit Getting Started part 3: Thermocouples guide helpful.
