I have a 313c set up and working for my basic functions on my development machine.

I am having trouble with my encoder. When i connect it to the fast counter channel 0 the PLC goes into SF as soon as you turn the encoder shaft. If i remove the 24v from Pin 1 it does not go into SF. Soon asIput the 24v back on pin 1 it goes into SF.

Also having configured SFB47I'mgetting no output from the block relating to the encoder count. Do I need to set a byte to enable the block?

Do I need to set the output to MD or can I refer to the DB when wanting to use the count ?

Just to add, I have enabled channel one in the HW config to be continous cout.
