Micromaster 440 Speed following questions....

Jkreckel Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Greetings, I am new to using the Micromaster family but rather experienced with Siemens PLC's. My question is, I have a MM440 that I am using to runa motor ona portable peice of equipment. This can interface with 5 different machines. My main question is I have a 2500 ppr ttl encoder signal on each machine that I would like to use as the speed following signal. I have purchased the mm encoder module and am hoping that what I need to use. Am I correct in this assumption? also, I hav a BOP but would also like to use Starter for teh setup, how the hell do I connect to the drive? must I purchase another card for this? thanks for your help!! Joe Question :- How Many motors you are going to connect with a single drive? If it is One Drive-One Motor System then Encoder Module will work for you. For Multi motor application, you have to connect Encoder to any one motor Regarding starter connection, there are several Options Best one is you have to purchase Drive-PC Connection Kit (6SE6400-1PC00-0AA0) Another is, use RS485-232 Converter and connect using RS485 terminals of Drive (Terminal 29 & 30) Also have a look at (How do I set up my MM4 with Starter or DriveMonitor?) for More help Regards Devesh Vithani

In this case, either you can connect to Drive by profibus using Step 7 integrated project, or if you want to connect directly, you need Profibus card for your PC or you need Field PG Regards Devesh
