Danielle Posts: 1275 Rating: (123)	Hi, I've never used raw data type for alarm logging... theoretically there should be no problem, but you should do a quick test first, sending about 16 bits in a raw tag. Aren't there enough tags to send the alarms in bytes? Best regards, Danielle

Because i am short of tags. Help me out In a Nuthshell there are 2 types of alarms in WinCC: 1. Arams triggered by PLC using ALARMxxx SF(B)(C)s. This is TIA (STEP7-WinCC) approach where you program the alarms in STEP7 and "Compile OS" to export into WinCC tags, alarm messages and even archive tags. 2. Old school (AB) type approach where you create a bunch of bit array and asign for each bit an alarm . The difference is you spend lots of external tags for these alarms and load S7 communication (WinCC will pull every second those tags to see if there is an alarm). Dec
