I also have the same problem,It was suspected CPU fault.So I have replaced the CPU with old RAM card which is removed from the existing suspected CPU.But even after replacing the CPU still problem persist.Then fibre cable was removed from both CPU and Re-Connected back and MRES proceed.Blinking was stopped. Every thing became normal, but after two hours again CPU goes to STOP mode.We gave a Hot restart again, NOw still it runnig normal.but need to find the exact problem.

Pls find the diagonose buffer below and help me to solve this issue.

Before being suspicious on any components of your SIMATIC S7-400 automation system,Please read more about grounding in chapter 4 and notes in A.2 in the following manual:
Automation System S7-400 Hardware and Installation

and if there is no problem in installation and improper handling of modules by maintenance personnel,I suggest checking possible faulty CPU (components) in a workshop with standard/test situation.Change faulty components with new one and ask HELP FROM HERE , if CPU has a persisting problem.
