Hello Pawan; A real time clock (RTC) is a special electronic circuit designed to measure time accurately. It can be embedded in many types of devices, including PCs, radio and TVs, etc... Most modern PLCS and PACs integrate a RTC in their electronics. However, details of these circuits are not divulged by the PLC manufacturers generally. You will find instructions on reading and writing to it (for S7 CPUs, you should use SFC0 and SFC1 for this purpose) but you will find fee details on the circuit itself. If you open document #10 in IBN's list above (SIMATIC S7 CPU 31X TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION) you will find technical specs for the RTCs in the S7-300 family of CPUs. As an example, I have attached the details of the RTC of the S7-313C, as shown in that manual. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
