I have migrated the Step 7 5.5 (SP4) to Window 8.1 together with SCL 5.3 (SP6). I have encountered a problem in opening SCL object directly from the sources folder (or the compiled blocks in blocks folder).

When I was on Window 7, once double-click the object, the SCL editor came out automatically with the source file opened. But, now in Window 8.1, when double-click the object, the SCL editor comes out without any source file opened. I have to click the 'Open' button under the File menu and select the source file to open.

What could be going wrong? Any setting which I need to set in order to solve this problem?

Uhm, Step 7 5.5 SP4 is not released for Windows 8.1. The latest operating system you can use is Windows 7.

In the following link is the compatibility tool from Siemens. In here, you can select the Siemens software and see what is compatible with one another.

Attached is a print out I made for you. You can see which operating systems are released. So, I will not continue to work further on Windows 8.1....More problems could arise..
