I want to buy a siemens ES (central engineering station) for which i want to know , 1) How many multiproject engineering can the siemens ES handle or that matter any server equivalent to siemens can handle at the same time?? 2)How will be the compilation time affected for different multiproject on the central server machine,even though i am having multiple HDD ?? 3)How many user (decentralized ES in remote location) can access the central server with no. of multiproject getting executed at the same time?? can u provide any documentation that siemens provides for this query ,that will support my selection for siemens hardware??i don't want u buy any serever other than siemens available in the market?? pls reply ....

That means that several engineers can work on the same project. If you have several CPU's (AS) they should be in separate projects within the multiproject. Then you should use "Remove for editing" from the multiproject to the distributed ES. If several engineers want to work in the same AS, you have to open the AS project(not the muliproject) on the ES server from the ES client. We have experienced that this is slow and you get conflicts, but it works as long as you don't compile to often. ER
