Dear Experts,

I have 64KB memory card and last time i used it in S7-313C CPU and didn't erase the program of CPU313c from the memory card.

Now when i tried to use it in S7-317 PN/DP CPU the stop LED blinking continuously and PLC is not communicating with the PG .Either from the PN port or MPI port and when i remove the memory card from CPU it is easily connected from the both ports.i have faced the same problem with another memory card then i insert the memory card within the same CPU as memory card has on it and the CLEAR the CPU and memory from online hardware in SIMATIC manager.

I tried to remove/delete the program as told in many sites by MRES on CPU but it doesn't work.

So is it compulsory to insert the memory card in CPU313C and then erase the memory?

It will be very difficult for me to do so bcoz at this time i don't have the CPU 313C just only have the 317 PN/DP..

Can anyone please help me to do this i am worried and i have a lot work to do on CPU 317.

Same problem here, with CPU314 before, and CPU315-PN2/DP after. PLC blinks stop and ethernet ports are shut down.

there is some hope for you guys but a radical method and kinda risky

Ther are  some third party software for reading restoring and someother stuff in this link for siemens MMC.

Use Siemens PG or Siemens Prommer to delete MMC content. Insert card in CPU, power ON, MRES, dounload real hardware config...

Have you tried @ diagnostic/Setting>>Clear/reset>>S7memory? then check if it deleted thru cpu messages>>module information.
