Retentive memory data

mr.adi Posts: 112 Rating: (0)	Hi I have replace a CPU. The second CPU has retentive memory data but at the old CPU didnt had this memory. Can you explain me what is that? Piotr.M Platinum Member Joined: 6/24/2013 Last visit: 11/14/2025 Posts: 1696 Rating: (433)	in very old s7-300 ram was battery backed and memory card was not used to backup the data. in newer ones (with MMC slot) data is backed up on MMC card. the retentive variables and data blocks are stored on flash to preserve data during power-down event. non-retentive resources will revert to 0 after power down.
