I have a question of RS232 programming in Sinumerik 840D which puzzled me for a long time. In my project I have a need to send data or string to output buffer of RS232interface by program instruction soI can getthe realtime machine data fromRS232.

We know that in control systems of Fanuc series instruction DPRNT can achieve the goal. I want to knowif there is similar instruction that have the same effect.

btw:Here is a sample Fanuc code:

N9999 (MEASURE POINT)
POPEN; open RS232
DPRNT["HELLO!"]; senddata "HELLO!" to RS232 output buffer here
PCLOS; close RS232

With the Renishaw print option installed, it is possible to output probing
results directly via the RS232 port of the controller. These results can be
sent either to a serial printer or to a suitably configured PC.
The print option can only be installed on Siemens 810/840D controllers
with an MMC103 module with software version 04.02.21 or higher.

I have never seen or used this feature, so I don't know how it works.
