Conditions to restart axis object

DavidBrown Posts: 975 Rating: (9)	I do a restart of a positioning Axis with the function _ResetAxis (with the options activate configuration data and activate restart). Sometimes (1 out of 10) I get the error 200012 with reason 2 : 'Restart not carried out (reason 2) . For reason 2 I get the help : 'The technology object is not ready to be restarted'. What conditions do I have to check for before restarting a technology object? One thing is sure : the axis is not enabled (actormonitoring.power = inactive) and there is no error from the drive or TO before.

winterwang Posts: 291 Rating: (1)	Hello David In the system variable : "restartCondition.restartAxisCondition " You can set it as 1:NO_CONDITIONS. 2:STANDSTILL 3:AXIS_DISABLED So ,before you restart the axis ,you can check the variable wether the same with your setting or not. And you can use the system variable "restart.restartActivationSetting" to decide which kind of way you want to use to restart the axis. It is just my opnion,hope can help you . Winter.

When triggering a restart via [axis].restartActivation = activate_restart, you can monitor for the completion of this by "wait for" [axis].reset = INACTIVE. If you don't wait, things might not go as expected. E.g. it won't re-home immediately because the homing status won't have been reset.
