this is probably the most "unfriendly" thing of Siemens automation. The rest is total pwnage.

Customer sees machine stopping, opens electric cabined and sees a red led on a S120 and a 20005 alarm on HMI.

Nothing else. There is a problem and all you get is a red led. In other automaton equipments there is a display on drive and you can see the alarm code and everything else.

He calls you about that 20005 and you'd better start booking your fly tickets in order to be (tomorrow) to that factory and solve the issue, hoping she will never happen again.

So what you can do ? As The Master said you have to use the readDriveFault and pop it out to HMI. But you will have an integer code instead of a good description of that alarm, so you should take Sinamics manual (1203943934 pages) and check the alarm infos about that code.

Otherwise, in your HMI, you create a textlist where the panel automatically shows you the number of alarm code and the description (at least in english).
