AFTER RESTORE OP17 IS FROZEN AT PROGRAM STARTUP PAGE

VDEL Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hello to all, I have already an OP17 panel functioning and working on a machine. I connect with prosave and backup the file. I try to restore it on the spare OP17 and after the successful and complete restore the spare OP17 , restarts, passes the test , shows version and reaches the first page the loaded program. But it stucks there, all keys are frozen, it goes only at the start page of the machine program and after that all keys are not functioning. I have already tried to restore 2 different programs and had the same behavior. Tried also Prosave v1.1, same. Tried all file extensions, (psr, psb, ) nothing always ended on a frozen first page. Any sharing ideas? Thank you in advance, Vasilis

VDEL Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	The spare op17 is all blank on the beginning(flash erase). The program is the one that I backup from the working op. The spare op17, completes restore, reboots, passes the test, show the version and it goes to the same start up page as the working op. I can see the date, time running, and all the options, F1,F2. But after 3 sec it freezes. I tried to copy another different program from another machine with different start up page. It had the same behavior. Completed the restore and when it loaded the start page it frozen again.

VDEL Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	I tried on the PLC all connected with the correct dip switches and had the same result.I use an MPI connection from OP to PLC. I thought it should work ,stand alone too. I mean if i have an op panel and supply 24V, should not work on the workbench too? If the op panel was damaged , should it pass the first internal test which perform on the booting sequence? My main issue is that restore procedure is successfully completed, the spare op panel performs its first reboot and stucks on the first page of the loaded program. Tried all, Prosave v1.1 and v.74. Tried with all file extensions, psr, psb.

Maybe yes, maybe no... If menue is done via screen selection on PLC - side, the OP will not change the screen without PLC - command.... My only idea now is, that your backup - file is not OK... Did you not have the source file to load with PtoTool?

VDEL Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	I dont have Protool , i also thought to create a simply file (Hello world ...) to upload to check if the program is ok. But for this reason I restore a different program , for another proccess procedure. Had the same result. Is there any way that the spare Op because of the time that it was storaged (almost 10 years) , causes all above? Its brainstorming that passes the internal test and boot sequence without any false alarm or message. I want to thank you in advance for the support and help you are offering,

Make a simple program using Protool for checking keys of the OP17 and download it to the OP and tell us the results. Do you have some other OP17 instock? If yes, did you tried to download the prosave image to one of them?

The best solution for you to avoid downtime for your system is to contact the programmer and get the original software (CS protool software). And then migrate it to WinCC flex. (OP177b). Hope it helps.

Hope it helps. yes really strange problem. it should not happen because two years back i faced similar problem with OP7 but by replacing OP7 with new one i resolved the issue.
