Hi

We have a 5axis milling machine which is like a Mill turn setup and has a 840d control on it.

When I have the head at -90 which makes the tool in the horizontal position the head can only go 25mm below the centerline of the chuck.

Just now i am having to program diameters I'm milling in 2 halves. I mill one side then rotate 180 degrees and mill the second side.

I lead to believe I can switch on Milling Interpolation and this will convert my X Y coordinates to X C.

I know on other machine it is G12.1 

Could someone tell me how to do this on Siemens please.
