Hi PCS7 users,

I have a project with 1 ES/OS station and 2 OS stations. Now 1 OS fail, and i want to replace it by a new PC.

I set up 2 PCs, one as OS and one as the ES, connect them by a router because i don't want to  download from the current ES - in operation. I have only 1 CP1623, so i install it on the OS.

I prepare and set all parameter as the old OS and the ES. So i start the download procedure :

- First, i download the station configuration from ES to OS : successfull

- Then i  download the network config, an error message appears : Unable to establish connection to module Station Manager (Index 125)

- I try to download project, it seems the project is downloaded, but at last the same error message display. I check the download folder in OS station, all the project is downloaded there. I try to activate the project, it notifies me that : the server name is not the same with the local computer name, i choose the option run with the local server name but the project can not be activated. Maybe the server name can not be changed to the OS name in the download process.

How can i fix it? Thanks in advance.

I have only one  CP 1623, I do not install the CP1623 for the new ES, so i can not download station configuration to ES. But i 'm not sure it 's the cause of the problem?

Please check the following your PC Station Configuration for the OS Server in your project:

• Right click on the PC Station configured as your OS Server and select properties and ensure the 'Computer name' is the same as the Computer name of your OS Server. After this select the PC Station -> Right click and select 'Configure'. Your configuration will be successful if your PG/PC interface is rightly selected/CP1623 is configured in the PC Station with the correct IP Address/MAC Address and the PC Station computer name is correct.

As I mentioned in my post, I already configured the new OS computer name and IP address, terminal bus the same as the old OS. I finished Station configuration for the OS too. But the problem occurs at the step network download and project download. But when i check the download folder, project was download there but maybe something happened, the server name of the ES can not be changed to the OS name.

 I saw this topic, but it is not the same as my problem. I 've chosen PG/PC interface for ES and OS : PC.internal already.

Some questions:

Is your ES PC Station configured and downloaded?
If not you are not able to download via PG interface PC internal.

Can you change the PG interface to the network adapter you are intended to use (via PC Internal).
It should be the same network adapter as de IP configuration of the network card configured in you OS and ES hardware configuration for the plantbus.

Can you import the XDB file (see object properties of the PC station in SIMATIC manager) manually at the OS and ES PC Station.

Hope some of these questions can help you further!

 Thanks for your reply.

1. My new ES Station not configured & downloaded because I have only one CP1623, and i installed it on  the new OS. When i configured the ES without the CP1623, it generated a fault. Maybe it 's the cause.

2. I tried to change the PG Interface to the network adapter that i used for the terminal bus, but the problem is still there. Because the current ES configuration is using a CP1623 for the plant bus & i didn't want to change. But maybe i will try to change the ES hardware config with a normal network adapter to test.

3. Another soluttion : i imported the OS configuration manually, then i copied the OS project to the new OS station, opened it in WinCC Explorer and change the computer name. Then i activated the  project ok. But i'm not sure the network connection is imported  along with the OS station configuration XDB file?
