Dear Sir,

I just don't know if 810D could communicate with step 7 v5.4 via PC Adapter USB A2 . The driver has been already installed for PC which has the system win XP SP3.

Welcome to forum.

Please open new topic for your query instead posting it in old topic.

You can back up your PLC project in two ways.

1. In series start up to external storage device e.g. PC. For this you need WinPCIN software with RS232 cable. This back up is in *.arc file which you cannot edit or check, it is just useful to restore PLC program in case of data loss or hardware replacement.

2. With Simatic Manager Step 7 V 5.4 or greater, user can upload complete PLC project along with hardware projects on external PC. It is useful for trouble shoting, fault analysis & to catch diagnostic buffer. For this you will need Siemens Step7 PLC software with PG. If user don't have Siemens PG, need external PC with MPI cable, & MPI adaptor User can buy 6GK1571-1AA00 MPI adaptor from Siemens. Please check which adaptor you have & is it MPI adaptor.
