Hello. I'm working on wiring up a Siemens PLC panel which includes a ET200SP PLC (6ES710-1DJ01-0AB0) and a HMI KPT1000 (6av6647-0af11-3AX0).

These need to be protected seperately with a circuit breaker but I'm not entierly sure how to do it. I'm thinking a proper fuse should break before the PLC and HMI can be overloaded.

I think what I have to do is to check the nominal current rating of the components (HMI, PLC) aswell as the inrush current. I can use this value to know what circuit breaker I need by looking at the circuit breaker nominal rating aswell as trip current.

Then, the circuit breaker size will determine my wiring size.

Can someone help me out and give me some insight? :) I don’t have a selectivity module available and I want to learn the correct way to document it using a one pole fuse.

Hello. Thanks for the information. I figured this out, but I need a single glass fuse to protect my two base units, in which I have attached two I/O modules.

m trying to find good information about how much these baseunits aswell as the I/O modules will pull in current. Can I get some insight?
