Please tell me how I should disable this backup DP/DP Coupler. Do I have to remove it from hardware? the red alarm confuses the maintenance staff.

Your screensot seems to be taken from a Step 7 v5,x program, so the following information follows that hint.

Using SFC 12 "D_ACT_DP" will remove the DP/DP couper from the Profibus master,s polling list, so it will no longer be included in the Profibus calls and will no longer produce an alarm. Normally this should be done on a temporary basis.

If you plan to remove the DP/DP coupler permanently from the Profibus network, there is a bt more work to do. The Profibus configuration should be reviewed, and before you delete the DP/DP cupler you should check wjhether I/O addresses attributed to the coupler are used on your program. If there are, and they are found in your PLC program (you can use cross-references to locate them), the lines of code where they are read/written should be removed from the program. Then you can delete the slave from the configuration without havng BF or SF LEDs active on the CPU, and take the coupler out of the network physically, after also revising the Profibus cabling. Also remove the SFC 12 network at this time.
