Hi everyone,

Is there a way to write a new Symbol Table for a program, which we uploaded from a CPU 224?

Here's the back story:

The PLC in question came as a pre- programmed spare part for a small machine.

However: the whole thing does not work. We can not find anything wrong with the wiring.

We are able to go online with the PLC - but we do not have a complete program handy (except the upload) - the symbol table is missing.

We do NOT have the original program on a laptop or PC, hence no supporting text, etc.

Since this is now the second unit which does not work, we would like to be able to dissect the program - but in order to be successful, we would need to get or write our own symbol table.

- Is there a way doing so, without re- writing the whole program?

I'm afraid you need to create one manually by reverse engineering the program by yourself.

To speed things up, you can create a new table based on the used bits/bytes in the cross reference table and put them in excel with the ability to auto fill the address being used. When done you can copy/past it to the symbol table and hit compile.
